Core Development Station

In this station we use a state-of-the-art radar as a biofeedback device to increase your rotational speed. Ball speed is directly related to the speed with which you can rotate the body, similar in some respects to the method used to throw a discus.

Target ball speeds from a dropped ball are 80mph. Routine speeds need to be 70mph. This level of speed cannot be produced from using the arm. Only rotational strength makes this possible. A remarkable fact is that consistency and speed are developed simultaneously at this station. It is a fallacy to think that you must first produce consistency then add speed. This approach, common to classically trained coaches, was completely disproven by Bollettieri.

The video below illustrates how this station works. Note that there is no loss of balance during the stroke that produces a 83 mph ball speed from a dropped ball.
